  • To provide fluency speaking practice in a conversation in the context of Everyday Objects

Procedure

Warmer/Lead-in (3-5 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students

I will let the students guess the objects by giving them some details about how they are used. I will show the statements and the pictures of the objects, and they will have to use which object it is.

Text Work (8-10 minutes) • To provide context for the target language through a text or situation

I will show the students a text of the history of Coca Cola and let them identify the passive forms. After that I will give Ss a google form to discuss in pair about the inventions of some objects. I will give them a multiple-choice task and let them choose from the answers.

Clarification (8-10 minutes) • To clarify the meaning, form and pronunciation of the target language

I will show the students present simple passive sentences and past simple passive sentences. For present simple passive, I will ask the students how the passive is formed, who or what is the subject of the sentences are, in sentence a, who remembers Colonel Sanders? In sentence b, who recognizes the brand? For past simple passive, I will ask the students to identify the passive forms, how do we form the Past simple passive, and who introduced Chanel No 5, and what is the subject of each sentence? I will drill the students for pronunciation and ask the stress and intonation with guided discovery.

Controlled Practice (8-10 minutes) • To concept check and prepare students for more meaningful practice

I will give the students the fill in the blank task. They will have to do it in the breakout room, and I will give them the answers and the let them check answers in pairs before the open classroom.

Free Practice (8-10 minutes) • To provide students with free practice of the target language

I will give the students some questions to discuss for freer practice, they will discuss in pair in the breakout rooms. I will monitor and give delayed error correction.
