To provide fluency speaking practice in a conversation in the context of neighbours.
Procedure (45 minutes)
In this part, the teacher sets the context for the main grammar topic. The teacher asks students to brainstorm adjectives and phrases to describe of their neighbour or neighbours and write it on the padlet. They should consider using articles and quantifiers as they see from the teacher's examples. For example, "a friendly neighbour," "some noisy neighbours," "many helpful neighbours," etc. In feedback, the teacher comments on some intresting descriptions.
In this part, the teacher asks students to work in pairs and do the Ex 5 to complete the articles rules by matching with the examples. In feedback, the teacher nominates some of the students for their answers. Then the teacher asks CCQs to see if there are any missing points.
In this part, the teacher asks students to work in pairs and do the Ex 6 to complete the comments with a/an, the or - (no artcile). In feedback, the teacher asks the answers by nominating different students.
In this part, the teacher asks students to work in pairs and do the Ex 7A in which students will be exposed to quantifiers.In feedback, the teacher nominates some of the students for their answers. Then the teacher asks the questions in Ex 7B to the whole class as CCQs to see if there are any missing points.
In this part, the teacher asks students to work in pairs and do the Ex 8A to underline the correct alternatives in the comments to practice quantifiers. In feedback, the teacher asks the answers by nominating different students.
In this part, the teacher asks students to work in groups and discuss the stuations in Ex 6 and Ex 8A through the following questions: 1.Who do you think is the good/bad neighbour in each stuation? 2.What makes a good neighbour? What qualities should they have? In feedback, the teacher corrects some of the mistakes that students made while they were talking.
