Main Aims

  • To provide practice of Present perfect in the context of jobs

  • To provide accuracy speaking practice in a conversation in the context of jobs and experience

Procedure

Lead-in (3-4 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students

-T shows the Ss a picture of Elon musk. -T elicits the name from the Ss. -T asks general questions about Elon musk. -T asks the Ss "is it important to have experience?" -Ss discuss it in pairs. -T conduct content feedback

Clarification (8-10 minutes) • To clarify the meaning, form and pronunciation of the target language

-T shows the Ss a picture for a person who gets promoted. -T asks the Ss how this person can say that he's got promoted. -T elicits the marker sentence. -T asks CCQ to check the Ss understanding. -T drills the marker sentence. -T starts writing the marker sentence and the form of the tense. -T starts to clarify the positive, negative and question structure of the sentence.

Controlled Practice (3-5 minutes) • To concept check and prepare students for more meaningful practice

-T shows controlled practice questions. -T gives the right answer on the screen. -T checks the answers with the Ss.

Free Practice (8-10 minutes) • To provide students with free practice of the target language

-T gives the Ss instructions using the correct procedures. -Ss starts to mingle and use the target language to produce. -T conducts language content and feedback.
