Main Aims

  • To provide product writing practice to write an anecdote of a trip

Subsidiary Aims

  • To provide the process of writing for an anecdote about a trip

Procedure

Warmer/Lead-in (3-5 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students

To open the class I will start remembering the Ss about last class's topic then, students will discuss the following in questions: (2 minutes) 1. Do you like to travel? 2. Can you tell me one of your favorite trips when you travel? T hears Ss's opinions and interacts with them and at the same time feedback is been giving

Exposure (4-6 minutes) • To provide a model of production expected in coming tasks through reading/listening

Ss are going to read the text for about 1 minute, T is going to ask CCQ's: Do you think this text is an anecdote? Yes Then T will ask again if they notice something on the text (the words in bold, which are linking words). T is going to provide different definitions about linking words so Ss will match them to its right definition on Jamboard (the estimated time for this activity is 4 min). Answers: And-Similar ideas But-Contrast ideas So-Result Because-Reason Then-Sequence Whole class feedback 1 to 2 min.

Useful Language (8-10 minutes) • To highlight and clarify useful language for coming productive tasks

Learners will observe the explanation of the teacher about writing an anecdote in order to instruct them to write one: (I will give the definition and some stages to take into consideration) MEANING: Anecdote: A short interesting story about an incident T will explain an anecdote is a narrative text that has three stages: Beggining, middle and end. (linking words are included in the text) CCQ's: Is an anecdote formal or informal? Informal Do we find this structure in all anecdotes? Yes FORM: Ss will have a short exercise by organazing the stages of an anecdote of the previous text presented and identifying the connecting words with the linking words. Ask CCQ's: 1. Are these two sentences connected? Yes 2. Why do we use "because" here?

Productive Task(s) (15-18 minutes) • To provide an opportunity to practice target productive skills

Ss are going to design their own anecdote about their last trip. They will write a paragraph about 100-120 words long on the app "Padlet" they will receive a link and work on there. It will be indivdual work first and then compare with the whole class, they will have 10 min. to create first ICQ´s: How much time will you have? 10. Is it going to be individual or in teams?Individually.

Feedback and Error Correction (5-6 minutes) • To provide feedback on students' production and use of language

Ss will read their classmates texts and they will mark if the anecdote is correct according to the questions I am going to give them: 1.Do the text follow the stages? 2. Does it contain linking words? They will first review for 2 to 3 min and then give feedback
