Main Aims

  • To provide specific information listening practice using a text about date experiment in the context of relationships

Subsidiary Aims

  • To provide fluency speaking practice in a going on a date in the context of relationships

Procedure

Warmer/Lead-in (3-5 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students

I will talk about my first time going on a date and how enjoyable it was then I will ask the students the same question: when was your first date? how old where you? was it enjoyable? why/why not?

Pre-Reading/Listening (3-4 minutes) • To prepare students for the text and make it accessible

I will write the new vocabulary on the board .I will write swipe/left/right and explain it .I will write the word application and ask them what is the abbreviation? I will write have something in match with sb then give an example to the students with the idiom then they have to guess the meaning.

While-Reading/Listening #1 (2-5 minutes) • To provide students with less challenging gist and specific information reading/listening tasks

students will listen to track 1.19 for the first time. I will ask them to do the questions in the book.

While-Reading/Listening #2 (3-4 minutes) • To provide students with more challenging detailed, deduction and inference reading/listening tasks

students will listen to the track for the second time and the answers will be checked I will ask the questions one by one.

Post-Reading/Listening (6-8 minutes) • To provide with an opportunity to respond to the text and expand on what they've learned

I will ask the students two questions. how does your ideal partner looks like? Do you like get to know someone by online apps? then I chose some students to answer the questions.
