Procedure (40-59 minutes)
Teacher provides some photos, such as chocolate, rice, potatoes, and so on. The teacher asks students to name these foods before moving on to activities in the book.
The students will be asked to solve a quiz provided in Part 1A in pairs. Students will be exposed to "How much...? and How many...?" question structures. Afterward, students will check their answers to quiz questions by scanning a text provided on page 134.
The students will be exposed to CCQs like "Is chocolate countable or uncountable? "and they are expected to find uncountable and countable nouns in pairs.
Students will be provided with answers to CCQs, and they will be asked to find which questions are used in 1A to find the quantity and amount of something in pairs. The teacher provides a language model when it is necessary. Once all students find questions, the teacher provides answers such as How many ...?, How much...?, etc. Besides, students will be provided structure, and they will be taught when to use "How much...? and How many...?
Students will circle the correct choice in grammar section 1B individually and be asked to check in pairs in a minute.
Students will be asked to complete the practice section alone, and they will pair-check in 2 minutes. Students will be asked to drill the given sentences.
Students will be provided cue cards in folded form. One side of cue cards will contain fill-in-the-blanks in which students should choose either how much or how many. On the other side of cue cards, there will be answers to questions in which their pair read.
