Main Aims

  • To provide gist listening practice using a text about date experiment in the context of relationships

Subsidiary Aims

  • To provide fluency speaking practice in a date experiment in the context of ideal type

Procedure

Warmer/Lead-in (3-5 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students

At the beginning teacher will talk about her experience in dating and relationships

Pre-Reading/Listening (2-3 minutes) • To prepare students for the text and make it accessible

teacher will write the new words on the board and will explain them.

While-Reading/Listening #1 (1-5 minutes) • To provide students with less challenging gist and specific information reading/listening tasks

students will listen to track 1.19 for the first time then answer the questions in the book

While-Reading/Listening #2 (1-2 minutes) • To provide students with more challenging detailed, deduction and inference reading/listening tasks

students will listen to the track for the second time then the answers will be checked

Post-Reading/Listening (8-10 minutes) • To provide with an opportunity to respond to the text and expand on what they've learned

teacher will ask the students to talk about their ideal date and partner.
