Main Aims

To provide gist reading practice using a text about the ginger bread man in the context of of learning the story line and how can the students sequence it.
Subsidiary Aims

To provide deduction reading practice using a text about the ginger bread man in the context of of understanding the story line and how it is sequenced.
Procedure (45-55 minutes)
The students will be a shown a 4 minute video with the gingerbread man story.
After watching the story the students will be asked in groups to draw from memory the important parts of the story.
The students will listen to the story while reading it. While listening they will be handed a worksheet in which they will write the beginning/middle/end of the story.
In pairs students will re-read the story while reading it. While reading it they will be asked to solve a worksheet of the story elements.
First the students will be given a comprehension questions worksheet. After if there is enough time the teacher will end the session with a bamboozle game about the gingerbread man story.
