Procedure (45-55 minutes)
Ask ss to focus on the posters and discuss the films in pairs – What do they know about these films? Elicit that James Cameron is the director of the films and focus on his photo. Ask ss to share their information.
Start to pre-teach some vocabulary from the text that will help ss to understand the text easily- Model and drill the words (script-physics-director-aliens-diving-got divorced)
-Ask ss to read at a general level in pairs and ask them to tell their feedback. -Ask ss to read more carefully and ask them to fill in the gaps. Work in pairs to check their answers, and then give their feedback. -Ask ss to check their answers by listening to the audio.
-Ask ss to cover the article and work on their own, then in pairs to choose the correct answer. - Put ss into two or three teams and ask ss to close their books. Read out the questions and answer options. Ss will answer the questions. Give one point for each question correctly answered.
-Ask ss to look at SB p.114. -Draw my own timeline on the board. -Write a few years or dates which mark important events in my life, and then tell them about these events. -Ss wrote their events and then work in pairs to talk about their time lines. -Encourage them to ask questions and remember the answers. -Ask ss to tell new partner three things about his previous partner’s life. -Get their feedback.
