• To introduce and explain new vocabulary to facilitate listening understanding. • To encourage students to develop the language and sharing personal experiences
Procedure (36-48 minutes)
- T welcomes the class and introduces the topic of the lesson by showing a picture and asking the following question: - “What is the last thing that annoyed you?” -T asks some of the students to answer the question, then T shares an example of what annoys her.
T plays an audio and asks Ss to match the annoying things with the corresponding stages based on the nformation from the audio. - Ss listen and answer individually -T asks Ss to share their aswers with the group. ICQ's: -Are you going to answer individually or in teams? (Individually)
-T shows Ss some language with 4 useful phrases to use in a conversation about things that are annoying. -T clarifies the use of the language and makes some emphasis on the stress of some of the phrases. T asks: "Where is the stress in this phrase?" CCQ's: - "Can I use some of this phrases to introduce a conversation?" (Yes) -"Are they expressing negative feelings?" (Yes) -T asks some students to repeat the phrase after her to cover pronunciation stage.
T asks the Ss to think of a person they know, and to take notes or think about the following questions for 2 minutes: - What are some of the things this person does that annoy you? -What was the last thing this person did that annoyed you? -When did it happen? -What did you do about it? Ss discuss the questions in breakout rooms for 5 minutes and then they switch pairs and discuss again for 5 more minutes. - T monitors for possible language mistakes. - OCFB
- T gives FB on Ss language. (If there is time) - T asks if there are any questions left. - T ends the class.
