Procedure

Warmer/Lead-in (3-5 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students

I will show Ss a video about family members and ask them 1. How many family members in the video? Then show them a picture to a family tree and ask them questions * Who is the oldest people in the family ? * Who is the brother of your father ? * Who is the sister of your mother ? and elicit the answers To make sure they are well engaged and exposed to the context

Pre-Reading/Listening (10-12 minutes) • To prepare students for the text and make it accessible

I will show Ss a picture of Greg and tell them that they will listen to Greg talk to his friend about his family members and then ask ICQ Who is this ? What is he going to talk about? to prepare the Ss for the listening text.

While-Reading/Listening #1 (10-12 minutes) • To provide students with less challenging gist and specific information reading/listening tasks

Ask them to listen for gist and write the number of the family member that they have listened to in the text. Then ask CCQs. Next, let them check their answers together first. Lastly, I will show them the answers to check it.

While-Reading/Listening #2 (14-16 minutes) • To provide students with more challenging detailed, deduction and inference reading/listening tasks

Ask them to listen for details for the second time and answer this question * Whose parents were born in India? Michael's parents Sanjit's parents Alice`s parents Ask them to Check their answer Next, ask them to complete Greg`s family tree let them check the answers together then with me for feedback

Post-Reading/Listening (8-10 minutes) • To provide with an opportunity to respond to the text and expand on what they've learned

I will ask them to Talk about their family members in pairs and say how many people in their family. The purpose is to practice the target language in the context.
