Procedure

Warmer/Lead-in (3-4 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students

I will show a picture to my students and want them to describe it, what are they wearing? what are they doing? Then they try to make sentences to describe the picture in the present continuous tens.

Highlighting (1-2 minutes) • To draw students' attention to the target language

I write the sentences that the students use to describe the picture. Then I mentioned that they are using the "ing" form of the verb to describe the photo. Then I asked them to do the practice "b" on page 8 in pairs. After that, we will check the answers with the whole class.

Clarification (5-7 minutes) • To clarify the meaning, form and pronunciation of the target language

I will have an explanation about making negative, positive, and question forms of this tense according to the grammar bank on page 126 part 1C.

Controlled Practice (3-4 minutes) • To concept check and prepare students for more meaningful practice

Students will do the practice on page 127, part 1C. Then they will check the answers to the whole class.

Free Practice (3-5 minutes) • To provide students with free practice of the target language

The students will do this practice in pairs. One of them is supposed to describe a picture to his/her friend and the other one has to draw it. Then vice versa. At the end, they all show their paintings to the whole class.
