Procedure (45-55 minutes)
T shows Ss a postcard sample and asks them what it is. Once they identify it is a postcard, T shows another slide with warm-up questions they will have to answer in pairs in 2-3 min and then Ss share ideas with the whole group When do people send postcards? Have you ever received or sent a postcard? What does a postcard need to have?
T shows Ss the sample postcard from the warm-up task and asks Ss to answer 4 questions in pais about it in 2-3 min. T monitors 1. Who sent the postcard? -- Ami 2. To whom was sent? --- Her parents 3. Where is it sent from? --- New York 4. Has he enjoyed the trip? Why? --- Yes, he has done many things After discussing the answers as a group, T shares another link from Wordwall where Ss have to label the stages of writing a postcard individually, and then T nominates Ss to check answers. T shows Ss some postcard stages in clouds and a list of expressions, they will categorize in the correct cloud in pairs so that they can identify useful language. T shares Google slides in which Ss will have to write their own postcard to a friend using the useful language and following the stages in 10 min. Once they have finished, Ss will read other classmates' postcards and complete a checklist to confirm they have followed the procedure. 3-5 min T nominates some Ss to give feedback.
T shows errors they made in previous stages of the lesson and asks Ss to identify the mistakes and correct them as a group. T asks CCQs when necessary
