Main Aims

  • To provide clarification, practice and review of Countable and uncountable nouns. in the context of food

Subsidiary Aims

  • To provide review of Food in the context of countable and countable food items.

Procedure

Warmer/Lead-in (3-5 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students

Show students a video game to guess the fruit,then show students a picture of a shopping cart in a supermarket.and ask students to discuss questions in pairs. 1-How often do you go to the supermarket? 2-Do you look at food others buy ? 3- Does it say anything about them.

Exposure (8-10 minutes) • To provide context for the target language through a text or situation

Clarify the meaning of some new Voc. (butter -luxury). Ask ss to answer exercise 1 number a.b in pairs. Show the answer key is on the board.

Highlighting (2-4 minutes) • To draw students' attention to the target language

Ask students to answer exercise C p.77 Ask students to pay attention to the bold words (some-any-a/an).

Clarification (8-10 minutes) • To clarify the meaning, form and pronunciation of the target language

. Elicit the usage or meaning of each one by asking questions (CCQ) about the next words and sentence structure. 1- is it countable? 2- Is It singular? 3-Is this sentence positive or negative? 4-Is it a question? Drill the sentences chorally,ingroups and individually. Draw a substitutional table on the board and elicit the form and write it on the board.

Controlled Practice (8-10 minutes) • To concept check and prepare students for more meaningful practice

answer p 135 Ex7 a,b in pairs check the answers (peer check). Check the answer key.

Free Practice (8-10 minutes) • To provide students with free practice of the target language

Put students in pairs . Show students a picture that has varieties of food . Ask Ss to ask each partner about his food diaries: What did you have yesterday? Let students speak and have feedback on the board.
