Main Aims

  • To provide provide listening practice for specific information and more detailed comprehension in the context of mysteries of everyday life

Subsidiary Aims

  • To provide gist and detailed clarification of the words presented in the audio

Procedure

Warmer/Lead-in (3-5 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students

In this first section I will ask my Ss the following two questions for discussing and to start introducing the context. Do you often get hiccups? How dou you usually cure them?

Pre-Reading/Listening (4-7 minutes) • To prepare students for the text and make it accessible

I will put some unknown words for the Ss they might find hard to understand related to the context of the audio and text I will explain meaning, form and pronunciation. MEANING: Most of us have TICKLISH spot somewhere. CCQ's: Is ticklish something you can feel? SLEEPWALKING is more common in children than adults CCQ's: Do you think sleepwalking an activity? To YAWN is the result of body needs for extra oxygen CCQ's: Is yawn something you can actually do by yourself? FORM: I wil elicit the form to my Ss so they will be able to identify the correct definition and use of the words PRONUNCIATION: I will have my Ss to repeat the words after me for a correct pronunciation I will show the syllabus and the word stress and the type of word TICKLISH / tick-lish / when someone lightly touches your skin to make you laugh. (adjective) SLEEPWALKER / sleep-walk-er / walk around and sometimes perform other actions while asleep (noun) YAWN / yawn / an opening of the mouth wide while taking a deep breath often as an involuntary reaction to fatigue or boredom (verb)

While-Reading/Listening #1 (4-8 minutes) • To provide students with less challenging gist and specific information reading/listening tasks

In this part I will play and audio for my Ss and then show the text in order to guess the possible answers (they will only hear the recording once for this activity). First is invididual and then the whole class together. I will conduct OCFB after doing the acitivty

While-Reading/Listening #2 (5-15 minutes) • To provide students with more challenging detailed, deduction and inference reading/listening tasks

Ss will hear for a second time the audio and in this time they will actual look for the real answers by selecting them in google forms. Later they will check and compare their answers into break up rooms. They will have 5 min. to answer I will conduct OCFB if they are correct

Post-Reading/Listening (5-10 minutes) • To provide with an opportunity to respond to the text and expand on what they've learned

Leaners will discuss the following questions in BORs. 1.How many answers did you get correct? 2. Which one surprise you the most? After finishin monitor is going to conduct feedback and DEC
