in this lesson students are supposed to learn key vocabulary that are mostly used in airport context, as a matter of fact the man concentration in this section is based on 2 main issues, first learning the key words that are related to reading task and second the student must be able to use these words in context and fully understand their meaning and be able to use them in new sentences.

Main Aims

  • To provide gist reading practice using a text about top air ports in the world in the context of travel

Subsidiary Aims

  • To provide clarification of traveling lexis in the context of travel

Procedure

Warmer stage (2-6 minutes) • to make familiar students with context and draw their attention to topic

instructor is supposed to ignite the students minds and ask them about the topic and observe whether the student have any feedback about topic or not? the material are supposed to introduce to student gradually and avoid any frustration between them. the visual aids which are included some pictures about topic must be presented to student and ask them about any feedback about issue in pair work or group work.

Pre-Reading stage (6-8 minutes) • To prepare students for the text and make it accessible

the teacher ask the students to review the text and focus on unfamiliar words especially the highlighted ones then the students are supposed to make some groups and guess the meaning of new words. in this stage teacher can ask them about their guess and confirm or reject their answers.

While-Reading (10-12 minutes) • To provide students with less challenging gist and specific information reading/listening tasks

since at last stage students get familiar with context they must expand their understanding about text, as a result they exposed on material officially and each section of reading must be read by one of the students loudly , in this stage teacher evaluate students comprehension and ask the guess more about meaning of unfamiliar vocabulary or sentences. Teacher also can challenge the students by asking some question about topic and engage them.

While-Reading (8-10 minutes) • To provide students with more challenging detailed, deduction and inference reading/listening tasks

the students must read the text deeply and answer question tasks. in this stage student must receive all details about text and be able to fully understand the meaning of new vocabularies.

Post-Reading (6-8 minutes) • To provide with an opportunity to respond to the text and expand on what they've learned

the student in this stage must be able to utilize the new words in new context. making some group between them help them to discuss about new materials or share their knowledge about this issue for instance teacher can ask each of them about their experience in this filed and expand it.
