Description

In this lesson, ss will learn about English letters (shape and pronunciation) and numbers (from 0 ot19). Session will start with playing a vedio tape about letters, and asking ss to repeat the letters after the talker. Then, will write down the letters on the W.B and teaching ss how to draw them, and ask ss to bring 3 words for each letter. Then drill them with ss. Also, will play an audio track activity to test ss about the spelling and ask them to choses the correct word. Then, will drill the numbers from 0 to 19 on the W.B and teach ss how to write numbers in numarric and letters and how to pronounce them. Finally, will ask ss to write down their phone numbers and utter the whole numbers each digit individually and by pairs and backwards.

Procedure

Warmer/Lead-in (3-5 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students

Will start session by greeting ss and introduce my name. Then, ask the 1st ss on my right side abouth thier name. Then, will encaurage the student to do the same thing with the next one, and so on untill we reach the last student.

Exposure (8-10 minutes) • To provide context for the target language through a text or situation

will play a video tape about letters and encaurage ss to repeat and immitate the pronunciation.

Highlighting (2-4 minutes) • To draw students' attention to the target language

the diff. between B and P pronunciations of C G

Clarification (8-10 minutes) • To clarify the meaning, form and pronunciation of the target language

will write down the letters on the WB in upper and lowercase and teach them the shape and pronunciation of each letter and if a letter has different pronunciations. Then, will ask ss to bring 3 words of each letters. Finally, will drill the letters and the words with ss.

Controlled Practice (8-10 minutes) • To concept check and prepare students for more meaningful practice

will play an audio track to encaurage ss to listen to the spilling and chose the correct word

Semi-Controlled Practice (8-10 minutes) • To concept check further and prepare students for free practice

ask each ss to write down their 1st and last names and spell them ask ss to write down their phone numbers and pronounce the digits

Free Practice (8-10 minutes) • To provide students with free practice of the target language

ask each ss to write down their 1st and last names and spell them ask ss to write down their phone numbers and pronounce the digits
