Procedure (46-56 minutes)
I will mime several activities that I do on the weekend like waking up, cleaning the house, cheering on a football team, going to the movies, mowing the lawn, going to the cinema. Then I will have the students talk tell each other what i was doing in pairs. Then I will group the students students and have them tell each other what they do on the weekends.
I will show the students pictures of various activities to elicit some vocabulary. Once they say the phrase i am looking for i will write it on the board. Then we will do matching exercise 1 on page 86. Students will check their answers in pairs. Then we will exercise 2 and and Then i will go through each sentence and have the students repeat the sentence after me. Then the students will make sentences about themselves using the phrases from previous exercises and tell eachother in pairs what they do on the weekend.
I will ask the students to read through the list on page 86 and tell a partner which ones they think is exciting. Then we will listen to the recording. I will ask the students to put a mark next to the things they heard in the recording. We will check our answers and I will ask the students if they remember who did what activities.
Then we will listen to the audio again and do exercise 2 on page 2. Students will check answers in pairs. Then I will have them read the answers a loud in full complete sentences providing EC where necessary.
After the recording I will ask the students to write about their perfect weekend. I will write some examples of a bad weekend and a perfect weekend on the board and let students write their sentences. Then they will talk about them in pairs.
