Description

In this lesson students learn about some words related to house activities. the lesson starts with a discussion about teenagers problems with their parents. This is followed by a reading. Finally students have a conversation in pare about their own experience in the past.

Main Aims

  • To provide detailed reading practice using a text about Teenagers problem in the context of Parents and Teenagers

Subsidiary Aims

  • To provide clarification of house activities in the context of Parents and Teenagers

Procedure

Warmer/Lead-in (2-4 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students

the teacher starts talking about her teen neighbour who always argues with her Parents and also her concern about her son when he became a Teen, then the teacher asks students to share their own experience.

Pre-Reading (3-4 minutes) • To prepare students for the text and make it accessible

in this stage teacher is going to teach some key vocabularies via some pictures to help students. the students going to match the pictures with related numbers.if anyone has same experience he/she is going to talk about it.

While-Reading (1-2 minutes) • To provide students with less challenging gist and specific information reading/listening tasks

The students are going to read the text and then answer who is talking (ie parents talking about teenagers or vice versa ) then check the answer in pair.

While-Reading/Listening #2 (2-3 minutes) • To provide students with more challenging detailed, deduction and inference reading/listening tasks

the teacher asks students to read the article again and answer which one is more annoying ? they will check their answer in pairs and then with whole class.

Post-Reading/Listening (4-6 minutes) • To provide with an opportunity to respond to the text and expand on what they've learned

The students are going to discuss about their own opinion about Teenage issues and discuss with whole class how to control it.
