Materials

Abc prayer cards
Abc food images

Main Aims

  • students refine the pronunciation of basic sentences to make their tastes for food known

Subsidiary Aims

  • students refine the pronunciation of basic sentences to make their tastes for food known

Procedure

Warmer/Lead-in (3-5 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students

show the students some cards where the sentences learned during the different sessions will be (my favorite food is..., I like it..., I don't like...), ask if they remember the meaning of these sentences and how they we used them in past classes

Exposure (5-8 minutes) • To provide a model of production expected in coming tasks through reading/listening

Ask the students to choose three images of food to form a single sentence with what they have learned in the past classes as a group.

Useful Language (8-10 minutes) • To highlight and clarify useful language for coming productive tasks

Listen to the different pronunciations of the students and mention the correct way of pronouncing the sentences and food, ask the students if they have any doubts about the pronunciation of the vocabulary, either of the food or the sentences that will be made.

Productive Task(s) (10-20 minutes) • To provide an opportunity to practice target productive skills

Make a draft of the group of sentences learned in the past classes in pairs and taking as an example what was seen in class for the realization of a single sentence

Feedback and Error Correction (15-20 minutes) • To provide feedback on students' production and use of language

Ask the ss to go in front of the group to mention their favorite food, the food they like and the one they dislike, if necessary correct the pronunciation of the ss and practice the necessary pronunciations together
