In this lesson students learn the most important characteristics of animals to be able to make sentences with the previous knowledge they have.

Materials

Procedure

Warmer/Lead-in (3-5 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students

Ask the students what characteristics the farm animals have and go on to write some abjectives of the animals on the board.

Exposure (8-10 minutes) • To provide a model of production expected in coming tasks through reading/listening

Play an interactive video so that students can listen to the adjectives that are used to describe animals. The students will have to write all the adjectives that they can identify together with their meaning in Spanish.

Useful Language (8-10 minutes) • To highlight and clarify useful language for coming productive tasks

Write several sentences on the board to play riddles about the farm animals, the students will have to listen to the description and identify what animal it is.

Productive Task(s) (10-15 minutes) • To provide an opportunity to practice target productive skills

Give students three cutouts of farm animals to write a simple sentence about the most important characteristics of each animal.

Feedback and Error Correction (8-10 minutes) • To provide feedback on students' production and use of language

The students will read their sentences in front of the whole group and we will correct them if necessary. Finally, they will answer an exercise on the description of three puppies to close the lesson.
