To provide specific information listening practice using a text about films and movies.
Procedure (42-53 minutes)
Warmer/Lead-in (3-5 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students
Present a series of movies and create a short survey to see which ones are more and less well known.
Pre-Reading/Listening (7-10 minutes) • To prepare students for the text and make it accessible
Show a movie billboard where the students show the film genres and identify what each one is about.
While-Reading/Listening #1 (10-12 minutes) • To provide students with less challenging gist and specific information reading/listening tasks
Practice the correct way of pronouncing each word and, above all, enter into the context of what it is about.
While-Reading/Listening #2 (14-16 minutes) • To provide students with more challenging detailed, deduction and inference reading/listening tasks
