Emotions, Expressions and fellings

Description

In this lesson, students learn how to orally express emotions through a guided discovery of a relationship to drawing and writing. The lesson begins with an introduction to observing gestures to guess emotions. To check students' understanding, there is a quiz after the discovered discovery. Finally, the class ends with the elaboration of various drawings so that the students place the name of the emotion under each one.

Procedure

Warmer/Lead-in (3-5 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students

-Ask the students: How do you feel right now? -Ask students to make expressions that represent the emotion they are feeling right now.-Explain that gestures are responsible for expressing our emotions.

Exposure (8-10 minutes) • To provide context for the target language through a text or situation

Watch the following Disney video

Highlighting (2-4 minutes) • To draw students' attention to the target language

Ask students the following problem: how can we discover the emotions of a person

Clarification (8-10 minutes) • To clarify the meaning, form and pronunciation of the target language

Indicate writing in your notebook the emotions written on the blackboard

Controlled Practice (8-10 minutes) • To concept check and prepare students for more meaningful practice

Ask students to remember those emotions and indicate to draw a picture of the emotion right next to the word that represents the emotion

Semi-Controlled Practice (8-10 minutes) • To concept check further and prepare students for free practice

Share the drawings with your classmates and compare which emotions match each other.

Free Practice (8-10 minutes) • To provide students with free practice of the target language

Instruct the students to repeat the emotions to a partner and their partner must represent it through a gesture, play with the roles.
