Description

In this session the students will be able to learn 5 animals names

Materials

Abc pictures of animals

Main Aims

  • To provide process writing practice of an Activity in the context of Animals

Subsidiary Aims

  • To provide deduction reading practice using a text about Animal names

Procedure

Warmer/Lead-in (3-5 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students

Explain the activity to the students: on the board there is a column with photos of animals and in the other column their names in English, you will have to relate them.

Exposure (5-8 minutes) • To provide a model of production expected in coming tasks through reading/listening

Teach the students how to pronounce the names of the animals in English, first I will say it and then they will repeat it. Then I will put a video where the animal is shown, its name and how it should be pronounced in English.

Useful Language (8-10 minutes) • To highlight and clarify useful language for coming productive tasks

I will give the students a word search where they will look for the names of the animals in English.

Productive Task(s) (10-15 minutes) • To provide an opportunity to practice target productive skills

The student will write the name of the animal in Spanish and then write it in English, also drawing a picture of the animal.

Feedback and Error Correction (5-8 minutes) • To provide feedback on students' production and use of language

A student will pass in front and make the sound of one of the 5 animals and the other students will have to guess which animal it is and say the name in English.
