Procedure (45-55 minutes)
Warmer/Lead-in (3-5 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students
Begin the class by showing pictures that represent different marine animals and ask students to identify them
Pre-Reading/Listening (10-12 minutes) • To prepare students for the text and make it accessible
show how to form a sentence with the words on the flash cards create a small discussion of how to do them
While-Reading/Listening #1 (10-12 minutes) • To provide students with less challenging gist and specific information reading/listening tasks
Provide the worksheets for them to read the names of the animals and begin to form sentences
While-Reading/Listening #2 (14-16 minutes) • To provide students with more challenging detailed, deduction and inference reading/listening tasks
provide the worksheet for them to read the sentences, while listening to the song with the sentences and being able to follow the rhythm of the song.
Post-Reading/Listening (8-10 minutes) • To provide with an opportunity to respond to the text and expand on what they've learned
Make small groups so that they read the sentences among themselves without listening to the song
