To provide review of Present Perfect Continuous and Present Perfect Simple in the context of a dialogue between two friends

To provide fluency speaking practice in a conversation in the context of past experiences
Procedure (36-45 minutes)
1) Have students share their (or someone else's) past experiences about anything. (Vacations, last weekend, achievements etc. will do). T provides images of famous people as examples. T tells SS that they have to use these structures: PPC: (have / has + been + -ing) PPS: (have / has + past participle) Examples: - I have been (studying) (English) for _____ years/months/days. - I have been (studying) (English) since (2010). - I have (studied) (English) since (2020). - I have (lived) here since (2015) Power Point will be used for this stage
T provides instructions Students will have to read the text. Then they'll have to decide if the sentences provided are using PPC or PPS. They'll do this individuall (3min) Then, in BOR, they'll peer check answers. (3min) After they're back. We'll check answers. (3min)
T shows slides 1) As starting point ask/elicit, provide answers too: "What's Past Participle?" "Why is it called "Present"? "Why is it called "Continuous"? 2) When do we use PPC and PPS? Try to elicit 3) T provides structures to make sentences 4) Encourage students to use contractions.
1)T provides intructions Fill in the blank: type correct form of the verbs T and SS do first sentence together as example. 2) Students have to do the exercise individually. (3min) 3) Then, send students to BOR, to peer check answers or correct mistakes among themselves (3min) 4) After that, provide OCFB (3min) Elicit some things from students, to check if they understand the statements
