Procedure

Warmer/Lead-in (3-5 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students

Give students a alphabet soup related to the topic

Test #1 (8-10 minutes) • To gauge students' prior knowledge of the target language

Show the students the flashcards with the vocabulary to learn, to verify the reading ability of the students

Teach (10-15 minutes) • To clarify areas of the target language where students had difficulty in the first test stage

Review with the students the content of the flashcards and their way of reading it. Give students a copy of the text about family members, let students read it, and ask students questions about the content of the text

Test #2 (8-10 minutes) • Check students' use of the target language again and compare with the first test

Give the students the second part of the copy of the activity, so that the students answer the questions, according to the reading that was done in the previous activity.

Free practice (8-10 minutes) • To provide students with free practice of the target language

Put the students in pairs, so that between them they can read the activities that were carried out today, make corrections, etc.
