Main Aims

To provide practice of the comparative adjectives to describe place in the context of a trip to Thailand .

Subsidiary Aims

To practice speaking using the comparative adjectives to describe places

Procedure (47-60 minutes)

Warmer/Lead-in (3-5 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students

I will display pictures of two cities on the WB.I will explain to them that my friends are arguing with each other about which city is the best to visit.

Test #1 (8-10 minutes) • To gauge students' prior knowledge of the target language

Following the TTT technique I will ask student to complete a text about Luke and Monica at the airport after their holiday in Thailand. compare them and write sentences

Teach (15-20 minutes) • To clarify areas of the target language where students had difficulty in the first test stage

I will now clarify the ones which are difficult for the students

Test #2 (8-10 minutes) • Check students' use of the target language again and compare with the first test

Following the TTT technique student will listen and fill in the gaps with a comparative form of the adjectives in brackets. use than if necessary

Free practice (13-15 minutes) • To provide students with free practice of the target language

I will give students a freer controlled practice speaking activity to compare the two cities by the using the comparative adjectives to describe the two cities Ankara and Sinop. FB: error correction will be immediately.
