Description

In the lesson, students learn the names of animals in relation to colors and sounds. The lesson begins by discussing different types of animals, their color and their sound, then follows the relationship of the drawing of the animal with the word of it's name and coloring the animal the color it is. finally the students will participate with the sounds of the animals and the others will have to guess saying the name of the animal.

Procedure

Lead-in (5-5 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students in relation to the animals existing in the zoo

Present pictures of animals that are in the zoo and ask the names of each one, so that they can identify the animal with its name and finally ask who has been to the zoo and what animals they have seen

Exposure (10-10 minutes) • To provide context for the target language through a text or situation

Write on the board the names of the animals they have seen in the zoo so that they can identify their name and the animal

Highlighting (8-5 minutes) • To get students' attention by playing with the name of the animals and the sound they make

Reproduce the sound that the animals make so that they can say the name of each one

Clarification (5-10 minutes) • To clarify the meaning, form and pronunciation of zoo animals

Review the names of the zoo animals in a group with the help of pictures

Controlled Practice (8-10 minutes) • To concept check and prepare students for more meaningful practice

Write on the board different names of animals in English and paste the images of each one of them, indicate that they relate the name and the image of the animal

Free Practice (10-10 minutes) • To provide students with free practice of the target language

After knowing the vocabulary of the content, they will be asked to write the name of 7 animals that they like and that are inside the zoo in their notebook and finally to draw each one of them.
