Procedure (45-55 minutes)
The teacher sticks three pictures (a restaurant, a forest, and a person on tv) on the wb. She then writes four names for each picture. The teacherelicit the name of those places and writes them on the board. The teacher says one of these people is a murderer and writes 'yesterday, 9 pm' on the board and asks sts who the murderer was.
The teacher then pic the murderer the students claim and writes such questions on the wb as "Was he alone in the forest?" "Were there any other people with him?" "Who was with him?" and elicit the answers from the students. The teacher then writes the answers on the board and highlights the negative forms and question forms of was/were.
The teacher then asks "Where were you yesterday at 9 pm?" and gets some ICQs from the students. Then the teacher gives flash cards to the sts and wants them to ask each otherwhere they were at that time. The teacher then wants the sts to do first grammar exercise on pg: 71 in pairs and then lets them check their answers by playing the record.
The teacher gives the instructions of the find someone who game and asks students to stand up and fill in the blanks with the name of their partners in the classroom. If there is enough time, the teacher introduces the sts to some tv programmes and repeats the same procedure with different questions such as "who was a fan of desperate housewives, Lost, Survivor, and So youthink you can dance"
The teacher monitors the sts during the game and notes some of the important mistakes that she has heard. After thegame, she writes these mistakes on the wb and elicit the correct forms from the students.
