Procedure

Warmer/Lead-in (3-5 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students

T shows the students some pictures of the Hamsi festival in Turkey. T will try to elicit some information about this festival, for example : in which month of the year do they usually do the Hamsi festival?, and when do they start exactly? on which day of the week? what about the time, at what time do they start ? Ss will be answering the questions and at the same time they will be exposed to the TL of the lesson

Test #1 (5-7 minutes) • To gauge students' prior knowledge of the target language

T gives the students the first test to check what the Ss know about the target language. T makes sure that all the Ss work alone and individually, T gives clear instructions and makes sure the Ss understand all the instruction. after they finish, T asks the Ss to peer check their answers.

Teach (10-12 minutes) • To clarify areas of the target language where students had difficulty in the first test stage

T asks the Ss to come on the board ad stick the answers in their right places. T corrects and teaches the mistakes to the Ss, asks few CCQ's to make sure they understand the rules can we use in with times? (No) can we use on with parts of the day? (No) can we use at with months? (No) , teacher then elicit some examples and drill the sentences and show the stress and the weak form. T then gives the answer key and the rules of using the time prepositions.

Test #2 (8-10 minutes) • Check students' use of the target language again and compare with the first test

T gives another test to the Ss to make sure they understand the rules and how to use the prepositions with a time expression. teacher will give clear instruction and do one example with them as the Ss need to add a time expression also not only the prepostions Ss will also be working alone, after they finish, T asks the Ss to peer check their answers together. teacher takes a whole class feed back then gives the answer key

Free practice (10-13 minutes) • To provide students with free practice of the target language

Ss will be divided into groups A's and B's the A's will get a set of questions and the B's will get a different set of questions and they will be asking and answering each other. students will be practicing the TL, T will monitor the students and write any errors to correct them at the end of the practice. T asks some A's and B's to say what they learned about their partners.

Line up by time game (2-4 minutes) • To have the Ss practice the TL

if there's some time left. T asks students to line up in some kind of time order as quickly as possible, e.g. by the time and date and day they were born, T will be splitting the class in two groups and giving points to the first group to line up correctly. T needs to make sure they use whole sentences in their questions and answers
