To provide students with the set of skills and knowledge to be able to effectively produce a persuasive essay.
Subsidiary Aims

To get students to think critically and speak about a particular position in a persuasive manner.
Procedure (39-53 minutes)
Brief introduction in which students talk about their weekends, then students will be asked if they are familiar with the concept of persuasiveness, what it might mean, and how it might differ from other forms of communication styles and writings.
Student will be introduced to the format of persuasive writing. The purpose of the format will be explained in order for them to form effective essays.
Students will be made familiar with essential vocabulary such as; ''To begin with, firstly, secondly, in addition, moreover, furthermore, however, in my opinion, on the whole, finally, in conclusion''.
Students will be asked to give examples of good and bad arguments, the importance of research and firm knowledge of the topic of their essay will be highlighted in this stage.
Students will be given a task to write a paragraph about the below topic. Each student writes a paragraph in a persuasive style. The task: Their school considering an expansion of its recreation area and they can,t decide whether they should build a new sports area or a new cafeteria. Students will be asked to pick one and write a paragraph to the school administration in order to pursue them of their choice.
Students will swap their papers and will read other each other's paragraphs.
Students will be asked to read out each others paragraph, and asked to find one right thing their peers did in their writing, and one thing they could change. I will then wrap up the class and conclude.
