Procedure (32-41 minutes)
I will ask my students to discuss the following 2 questions: 1- Do you know somebody who has achieved something great? 2- Have you ever achieved something? What? I will ask students to discuss these questions orally in order to introduce the topic. Then, I will nominate 2 or 3 students to give their opinion.
I will ask students to read the following sentences and answer the questions that follow them: Meaning: 1- The company has had a high TURNOVER of staff. CCQ: Has the company had a rate or a record of staff? 2- Alan´s bike brakes FAILED half way down the hill. CCQ: Did Alan´s bike brakes work or stop working? 3-A cousin of mine rebelled against her strick UPBRINGING. CCQ: Did She rebel against eduacation or believes? 4- My ELDER brother has passed the driving test. CCQ: Has my favourite or my first -born brother passed the driving test? Form: I will elicit the form from students. Pronunctiation: 1.I will model words. 2.I will ask students to indentify number of syllables and stress. 3. I will ask my students to drill.
I will ask students to read the texts quickly and match each heading with a text. I will give students 4 minutes and this will be individual work.
I will ask students to read the statements for 1 minute. Then, for the first 2 texts, I will ask students to answer questions and for the last 3 texts I will ask students to decide if these are T/F. I will ask my students to justify their answers.
I will ask my students to discuss these questions: 1. How often have you listened to unusual achievements? 2. Have you ever taken huge risks? 3. How do you manage unspected problems? 4. Do you think a person can overcame a difficult early life?
