Main Aims

Procedure

Lead-in (3-4 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students

-T starts by showing a picture from a movie on the screen and asks the students: *What do you think about his outfit? *Would you like to wear like Khalaf while going to college? - Then in pairs, Ss will discuss some questions : *What should students wear on the first day at college?​ *What type of clothes do you like to wear? What is your favorite color to wear? - T asks students about some of their answers

Test #1 (3-4 minutes) • To gauge students' prior knowledge of the target language

-T gives handouts -T gives Ss instructions for test 1 : * Here you have a picture of 6 people , i need you to know their names from there 9 sentences -T models with the Ss and T asks them to do it alone and they have 3 minutes -T monitors -T asks them to check their answers in pairs -T tells Ss to check their answers from the screen

Teach (7-9 minutes) • To clarify areas of the target language where students had difficulty in the first test stage

Using MFP: - T elicits the marker sentence ( Frank is listening to music) - T draws the time line and asks CCQs ( Does this happen in the past , present or future ? , Is this happening now?) - T elicits the form for affirmative, negative , Yes/no question and Wh question - T drills in groups and chorally ( mentioning the contraction of verb to be with all pronouns and pronunciation of gerund)

Test #2 (6-8 minutes) • Check students' use of the target language again and compare with the first test

1- Controlled Practice: - T gives instructions : * Here you have 6 sentences , make them into present continuous and make it true about you , do it alone , you have 3 minutes - T models and asks ICQs ( will you only turn it to present continuous or also make it about yourselves? , Will you do it alone or with your partner? , how much time do you have?) - T monitors - In pairs , Ss check their answers - Get answers from Ss 2- Semi-controlled : -T gives instructions : * write 5 sentences about what other people here are wearing or doing , do it alone , you have 1 minute - T asks ICQs : * how many sentences will you write ? , will you write sentences about you or your friends ? -T monitors - T asks the to stand up and compare their answers T monitors

Free practice (4-5 minutes) • To provide students with free practice of the target language

-T shows Ss some questions on the screen to discuss with their partners and set the time for 10 minutes - T asks Ss to stand up and find a partner - T asks them to write some of their partners' answers (communicative goal) - T monitors - T conducts content and language feedback
