Procedure (19-29 minutes)
The teacher enters the class talking about travel plans. She uses some first conditional sentences, Then students watch a short video to get familiar with the first condition.
The teacher asks the students about where they want to go, Then the teacher will help the students to elicit a sentence using the first conditional.
The teacher highlights the adverb of "If".She writes many sentences that the students make in the correct form. The teacher will draw the student's attention to grammatical structure.
The teacher will clarify the form, function, meaning and pronunciation with the help of the students. The structure and the meaning are elicited and the pronunciation and intonation are practiced with drilling.
Students complete the blanks in the statements individually, and then they will check their answers in pairs, after that the answer will be checked by the whole class.
The teacher divides the students into 2 groups and gives the students a speaking exercise using the first conditional: Tell us, What will you do if you travel to California? The students discuss in groups and the teacher monitors them.
