To provide accuracy speaking practice in a conversation in the context of 5 senses
Procedure (26-30 minutes)
1. Greeting. SS usually answer "Good morning, teacher". Ask how do they feel (to recall previous week vocabulary about feelings) Anticipated mistake: copying teacher's phrase- "Good morning, Joy class". 2. Engage SS to define the weather, day of the week (yesterday, today, tomorrow), season, month and date. 3. Choose a Line leader, a Teachers' helper.
1. Tell SS that today they will learn more about their bodies. 2. Present pictures and pronunciation, ask SS to repeat. 3. Ask each S to name the body part and show it on their body. 4. Speculate on "hand" and "feel", for SS to practice senses: "Do you see with your hand?", "Do you hear with your hand?", they are expected to say "feel"
1. Ask question from the book, pointing the pictures. 2. SS give shorts answers, but I usually say "yes, great job", and demonstrate the full answer from the book. Encourage SS to repeat. 3. Ask SS about the quantity of each body part to practice numbers, using funny questions like "DO people have three hands?". Praise SS for right answers.
1. Present colouring pages, ask about the body parts on the pictures. 2. Provide SS with a handout, make sure they write their names. 3. Offer SS to colour the pages and draw a missing part. Praise them for a colour choice or neat colouring. 4. If you have time, you can watch the video and sing along. (Head Shoulders Knees And Toes (2019)).
