Procedure (45-55 minutes)
I will ask students to demystify the scrambled words from the previous unit. And ask them to explain their roles in the telecommunications.
The teacher asks students to match the words in the blue box with their definitions and match different essay types with assingment titles. After doing this, teacher ask students to look at the title of the text and the first sentences. S/he asks what is the text about and what type of writing has been used.
The students are given a Padlet link and asked to prepare 4 questions while reading the text.
The students are asked to answer the questions of their pair shown on the list. They write their answers. After answering the question, question owners check the answers and explain if the answer is wrong.
Student look at the table at the bottom of the page 64 for the vocabulary. They match them with the definitions. Then, Sts look at the underlined sentences in the text. They underline the subject and verbs of those sentences. They say the main subject and verb of the sentences.
Students choose a topic from the list and prepare a summary using note taking strategies that they covered in the previous semester.
