To practice and revise functional language to describe your feelings and compare.

To communicate one's own emotions effectively, as well as to empathize with others and understand their emotional states.
Procedure (33-45 minutes)
T will show pictures of people expressing some feelings in different situations. And ask the question: "How is this person feeling?" to class.
T will play an audio and ask students to match a group of questions with the correspondant speaker who answer each question. In two questions, more than one speaker may be possible. Then, students will go into breakout rooms to compare their answerS for 2 minutes. In the main room, the whole class will check the answers. a. What makes you laugh? Speakers 5 and 9 b. What frghtens you? Speaker 6 and maybe 8 c. What makes you feel depressed? Speaker 3 d. What helps you to relax? Speaker 4 e. What do you really detest? Speaker 8 and maybe 3 f. What makes you stressed? Speaker 2 g. What makes you feel embarrased? Speaker 1 and 10 h. What makes you happy? Speaker 7
Ss will listen to the first part of the audio once again (3 speakers) and they will match the beginning of the response with the question. a. What makes you laugh? One thing that I often do actually, that always makes me feel really embarrased is... b. What frightens you? There's only one thing that really stresses me... c. What makes you feel depressed? Something that always makes me feel depressed...
T will take the previous 3 examples of the functional language and ask some CCQs on meaning and form. The examples are 1) One thing that really embarrases me is when... 2) There's only one thing that really streeses is... 3) Something that makes me feel depressed is... : Meaning: - Are speakers talking about feelings? (YES) - What are they saying about their feelings? (DESCRIBING) Form: Depending on the expression - What word/phrase comes next? (ADJECTIVE/CLAUSE) Then, teacher will present some more expressions and make students choose which ones are also describing feelings. And elicit others as responses. Extra expressions: - I hate/love it when... - I find... very embarrasing/relaxing/annoying, etc. - ... makes me very happry/relaxed/depressed,etc. Responses: - Me too./So do I - What about you? - Does anyone else feel the same way? T will give examples of the intonation of the responses.
T will play an audio record and ask students to complete sentences from exercise 4 of page 24 Students' book. For 2 minutes, students will compare answers in breakout rooms and then in the main room, the whoe class will check.
In groups of 3 students will be asked to describe two situations, one that makes them feel positive feelings and another for negatives. At the end teacher will give feedback on this exercise and any other possible problem students may have had.
