Procedure (37-46 minutes)
I will use pictures and humorous gifs to set the topics (social customs) that they will be discussing in pairs. In this stage, the topics will be personalized. Feedback: I will ask them about their partners' answers.
Ss will listen to a few tracks and fill out the gaps in exercise 2. This will act as a model for the speaking task.
I will display the Useful Language box on the PPT and clarify the language in the box through context (examples). This is to prepare them for the speaking task in which they'll use these expressions to better express themselves.
Ss will take notes on some tips they might give to a foreigner visiting Egypt.
Ss will roleplay, one of them will be a foreigner visiting Egypt for the first time asking about our social customs, the other will be a local giving them advice and tips on how to behave. They will then switch roles and repeat. Afterwards, they will switch partners and discuss once again.
Each student will mention the tips they gave to the other students while roleplaying. Feedback on the use of language will be provided by praising them for using some of the phrases in the Useful Language box and by pointing out mistakes the Ss made relating to the target language.
