Main Aims

To provide speaking fluency practice in the context of describing an event and asking about it
Subsidiary Aims

To improve students' vocabulary and grammar skills through the use of relevant vocabulary and sentence structures related to the event.

To enhance students' listening skills through active listening and responding to their peers' descriptions and questions about the event.
Procedure (42-45 minutes)
T will show seven pictures of events, students have to say the name of the event first one by one and at the end they will be asked the following questions: What are these? (Events) Are they big events or small events? (big events)
Listening:Ss will listen to an audio recording about 4 events, and they will answer 3 questions for each event in breakout rooms. In the main room T and Ss will check all answers. (T will assign students to answer questions.)
T will show Ss expressions. Ss are going to classify these expressions into two categories: describing the event and asking questions about the event. T and Ss will check expressions or words that may cause some trouble, as well as other possibilities: - It was absolutely... - Who/How many... - highlight...
Ss will work in groups of 3 and each member has to talk about a memorable event he/she has been to. Other members of the group will have to ask some questions in order to get more details. After 6 minutes members will change groups, and, after 12 minutes they will change again. At the end, in the main room, T will ask for voluunteers to talk about the most interesting event they have heard from their classmates.
From monitoring, T will point some mistakes that Ss can make.
