Main Aims

- Using Pictures as basis for vocabulary.

- By the end of the lesson, learners will have been exposed to and widely practiced the target vocabulary by answering Ex 9 p40,workbook and by Making learners work in pairs to conduct an interview.
Subsidiary Aims
-
• Showing learners when they should use the new acquired vocabulary. • Form questions and answers using such vocabulary e.g. as in an interview.
Procedure (42-55 minutes)
1- Greet the ss with a smile to everyone to strengthen the rapport with them. 2- Show ss some pictures of different jobs and ask them to think which job would they like to do most / least and why? 3- Make ss after that discuss it in pairs.
1- Tell ss that they are going to work in pairs to categorize the words and phrases ( I'd like to....I wouldn't mind doing it..... I wouldn't like to) 2- Tell ss that they are going to discuss their opinions at the same time. 5- Monitor and feedback. Instructions 1-Categorize the target words and phrases according to ( I'd like to....I wouldn't mind doing it..... I wouldn't like to). And, discuss your opinions at the same time. (7 minutes ) 2- Work in pairs. Use ICQs 1- Are you going to write something or discuss or both? (both to write and to discuss) 2- Are you going to work individually or in pairs? ( in pairs) 3- How much time do you have to do this exercise? (7 minutes)
- Go through the answers to the previous exercise. - Pay attention to the meaning, form, and pronunciation of the following vocabulary items: physically fit, creative, special training, qualifications, secure, well-paid, stressful, competitive, challenging, responsibility, and opportunities. - use description, definitions, exemplification, context, synonym, and antonym.
1-Tell ss that they are going to do Ex 9 which is to replace the definition in bold with a phrase from the vocabulary in the handout. 2-Tell ss that they are going to work individually at first. Then, check in groups. 3-Monitor and feedback. Instructions 1- Replace the definition in bold with a phrase from the vocabulary in the handout (8 minutes) 2- Check in pairs. Use ICQs 1- Are you going to choose or write vocabulary? (write vocabulary ) 2- Are you going to work individually or in pairs? ( individually at first then, check in pairs) 3- How much time do you have to do this exercise? (8 minutes)
- Make ss change the pairs. - Make ss work in pairs and role play to do an interview in which Student A is the manager of a radio station, Student B is the applicant. - Give out role cards ( and job ad ). - Give them 5 minutes to prepare their role. Then perform the interview in pairs Instructions -In pairs, take turns to do an interview using the role cards for Student A and student B ( 12 minutes) Use ICQs 1- Are you going to write anything? ( No) 2-Are you going to discuss in pairs or groups? (In pairs)
