Procedure (14-26 minutes)
This stage has already been done. At the beginning of the lesson, I told the Ss that I'm sad because I have a problem in my house. I showed a picture and asked them to try to explain my problem.
This stage has also been done. The Ss listened to three conversations about 'describing a problem in the house'. They answered the questions of part A on page 112 of Èdito A1 hence they are now familiar with the context and learned words related to the context.
My micro-demo starts from this stage. I show slide 2 and say: Vous avez écouté les trois dialogues. Maintenant, en utilisant le tableau complétez les phrases I wiil try to elicit the target laguage and will tell them : Écrivez vos réponses dans le chat
another dialogue with missing information on slide 3 will be shown. the learners will have 3 minutes to complete the conversation. I will say: Alice a un problème à la maison. Elle téléphone à un professionnel. Complétez le dialogue avec les mots suivants. then they will listen to verify their answers. 2 learners will be chosen to practice the dialogue. I will ask a learner to read the green box ' pour parler d'un problème' In slide 4 in order to draw their attention to the useful language they can use in the following stage.
I will show slide 5 and ask a learner to read the task. I will clarify and ask them some ICQ, and CCQ questions to make sure they have understood the task. then I will give them 3 minutes to prepare themselves for the task and take notes. Then I will choose partners and will ask them to practice. I will provide them with feedback and correction if needed. To wrap up the lesson, I will show slide 6 and ask them to practice the target language at home in order to be able to describe the problems shown in slide 6. Next session they will practice without their notes.
