Procedure (33-43 minutes)
* In order to engage the students, keep their interest in the topic I ask them two personalized questions about shopping, providing an example by answer those questions. Then, the students will tell a Partner or more in a WC interaction. The questions: - Where do you often go shopping? why? - What do you spend most of your money on and why? * In order to make the text more accessible to the students; I hand them with an activity where individually they're asked to match (anticipated) words with the appropriate definition. They peer-check. Then, I provide them with the answer key sheet. - Drill the students for some words and provide them their function.
-In pairs, the students are asked to do an activity where they will complete the sentences by adding a missing wordto each of them (1 p88). - The students access to the answer in the key answer sheet.
- While the students are doing the activity; on the WB I draw different quantities .On the right of the board,I write a quantifier then point at one of the items and ask the students to make a "true" and " correcte" sentence about the item. I'll write the sentence that a student may give, then ask the rest of the class if it's true and correct and elicite the correct version from them. - I repeat the same procedure of all the target language I have to teach.
-On the hand out provided , the students are presented with target language within examples from the previous activity, then are asked to complete the rule, by filling the gaps with the correct missing words. - Students check their answers in group. Then, tho they can access and check their answers from the key answer key sheet provided.
-Individually, the students are asked to use the target language to complete the sentences so that they are true for their town. (3p89). - Students check in pairs, then, they check their answer from the key answer sheet. Discuss with the students if there are any misunderstanding of the concept of the target langauge.
- The class is divided into three groups. Each group will represent a group-age association and are asked to prapare a proposal for the new shopping area in their town covering specific points suiting the needs of each age-group. Each group will choose a student to read their propasal. - Three students from the three groups are going to join the two other groups. ( every group is represented in the three groups) and make one final proposal for the shopping centre that meets the needs of all the age-groups represented. -Finally, a student from each group will present their proposal.
