Description
In this lesson, students will learn about vocabulary and grouping words through guided discovery based on reading a comprehension. The lesson starts with using flashcards for the students to test each-other. This will be followed by reading the comprehension and highlighting the words in different colours according to the class.

To provide scan reading practice using a text about Word- Classes in the context of Words in bold
Procedure (13-17 minutes)
Warmer/Lead-in (5-7 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students
Starter: Task (flashcards) in pairs. (test each-other on the prepared) - Quick test: Verbal and random, just to check what they got from the starter.
Task (8-10 minutes) • To provide an opportunity to practice target productive skills
Read together as a class. Focus, stop and ask about words in bold. Highlight words in bold, annotate early understanding of words ( N-A-V-ADV).
