Procedure (45-67 minutes)
First, Teacher shows a picture of a beautiful house and asking a couple of questions about it. Second, the teacher will divide the class into pairs, each student in each pair will choose a picture from the internet for a house that is similar to their dream house and then describe to their partner how their life would be if they lived in that house. Teacher gets feedback from each pair.
Teacher gives out a text about a conversation between a husband and a wife while they are looking at some houses pictures and imagine how their live would be if they lived in each house. Teacher asks 3 CCQs
Teacher divides students into pairs. then, Teacher hands out a worksheet for each pair. In the worksheet, there would be two sentences in the second conditional with some questions about the tense, whether it's a real situation or an imaginary situation & whether it's likely to happen or not. Teacher gets feedback from each pair.
Teacher explains meaning of second conditional, elicits the form on board, drills for pronunciation. Teacher asks CCQs, then write the form of first conditional as a review again on board, giving examples for each with eliciting the difference, asks CCQs.
Using Kahoot, the teacher will prepare some multiple-choice questions and correct-or-incorrect questions for the students to choose from. (The questions would be on both first and second conditional, and using Kahoot to make it more fun & challenging).
Two activities: the first one, the class would stand up in a circle and each one in the circle would say an imaginary situation in the second conditional and an advice to their peers in the second conditional. the second one: the teacher will divide students in pairs, each student in each pair would draw a pyramid. In each step of the pyramid, they would write their wishes bottom up from the more achievable to the less achievable or even impossible wishes. They discuss it together and share their pyramids all together with the teacher.
The teacher divides the class into 4 groups. Each group will write a letter to a dear imaginary friend that they miss. in the letter they will express their feelings to the friend and describe how they would spend their time together and what they would do if the friend was here with them. Each group will share their letter to the class. the teacher gives feedback and make corrections for any mistakes.
