In this lesson, ss will learn new vocabulary about health problems in the framework TTT. through out short story about 2 people Tarek and Rana at the end of the lesson, they will be able to express health problems that happen to them and use words in a speaking task

Materials

Abc face2face second edition for elementary
Abc power point
Abc students hand out
Abc white board

Main Aims

  • To provide clarification and practice of Health problems in the context of pictures of two friends having different Health problems

Subsidiary Aims

  • To provide accuracy and fluency speaking practice in a Conversation in the context of Health problems

Procedure

Warmer/Lead-in (3-5 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students

first I will present a slide have a picture of a famous actor. elicit where was he ….. at the hospital. then demo the questions by answering them about myself then ask them to ask and answer in open class first then do it in pairs

Test #1 (5-7 minutes) • To gauge students' prior knowledge of the target language

first set the context what is the matter with those people they are.... sick. ask them to match the picture with the sentence demo the first one with them. let them answer alone then check in pairs

Teach (10-15 minutes) • To clarify areas of the target language where students had difficulty in the first test stage

introduce Tarek& Rana visual ack CCQs is he fine? no what's wrong with him? which part is hearting him? his stomach. elicit the TL through visuals stomachache - headache -cough- temperature-sore throat- cold " I've got what's the problem are they fine or sick? sick put it in a sentence ... I feel sick my back hurts elicit the form. write on the board show where is the stress -for each illness will use fingers to highlight the form and contractions. elicit stress from ss - model and drill chorally and individually -then divide the students into 2 groups and give each group a different paper each paper has different health problems ask them to only act the illness and their partner has to know in 20 seconds what is it

Test #2 (8-9 minutes) • Check students' use of the target language again and compare with the first test

I tell the students to look at the picture and write the fill in the gaps with the correct illness demo the first one with them. check-in pairs and provide them with an answer key

Free practice (8-10 minutes) • To provide students with free practice of the target language

I will ask the ss to make a conversation in 2 what's the matter? i've got a stomachache oh dear you should stay at the home or give him any kind of advice. ask ss to demo one in an open class . then do it in pairs and exchange roles after 4 - minutes provide them with a feedback
