Procedure (28-45 minutes)
- T will make Ss play Kahoot about collocations. - T asks Ss what we call these word pairs. - T tries to elicit the word collocations.
- T makes Ss answer ex-e individually (match word pair idioms with their meanings). - T answers the 1st one with the Ss. - T makes the Ss check their answers in pairs. - T gives feedback.
- T clarifying the collocation/word pairs. - Some pairs of words in English that go together always come in a certain order. For example (ladies and gentlemen) and (black and white). - Some of the collocations are called idioms and have a meaning. - we joined these collocations with (and-or) - T tells Ss the form. - T tells Ss how to pronounce (and)
T divides the Ss into 2 groups. - 1st group will answer ex-b and 2nd group will answer ex-c. - T asks Ss which word (from circle A) goes with a word (from circle B). using (and) - T answers one with the Ss. - T tells the Ss for ex-c to guess a word goes with the 1st word. using (or) - T answers one with the Ss. - T makes Ss check their answers in pairs. - T plays the record for the Ss to check their answers.
- T tells the Ss to write 2 or 3 situations that happened with you using these idioms. - T puts the Ss in groups to make an open discussion.
- T corrects the exercises e and f. - T gives content feedback.
