Procedure

Warmer/Lead-in (3-5 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students

I will ask Ss to think about these statements. 01. A basic scientific advance that we couldn't live without. 02.An outstanding sporting achievement. 03. Outstanding leadership in a period of crisis. I will nominate 2 Ss to give their opinion.

Pre-Listening (4-5 minutes) • To prepare students for the text and make it accessible

I will ask Ss to read following specific words and discuss about them. 01.Consecutive 02.Diagnosed 03.Inspiration I will ask Ss to elicit the meaning form from. I will ask Ss to identify the number of syllables and stress. I will ask Ss to drill .

While-Reading/Listening #1 (10-12 minutes) • To provide students with less challenging gist and specific information reading/listening tasks

I will ask Ss to listen to an audio to get a general idea and discuss about the questions. 01.Do you agree with what they say? 02.Which of these achievements do you find most /least amazing? 03.What reasons do they give for admiring these achievements? I will conduct OCFB.

While-Reading/Listening #2 (14-16 minutes) • To provide students with more challenging detailed, deduction and inference reading/listening tasks

I will ask Ss to listen to an audio second time and complete the questions (1-3) as they listen. 01.Do you agree with what they say? 02.Which of these achievements do you find most /least amazing? 03.What reasons do they give for admiring these achievements? I will let learners to check their answers in pairs via BORs. I will conduct OCFB.

Post-Reading/Listening (5-7 minutes) • To provide with an opportunity to respond to the text and expand on what they've learned
