Procedure (35-43 minutes)
1. Ask the students to count, and then count the even numbers and then the odd numbers. 2. Give the students real bills of money ( euro - pound - dollar) and ask them to work in three groups and talk about the bills' amounts and names, the countries where they are used and what we can buy for each bill in Turkey. Elicit some answers.
Ask the students to the exercise, and before they start do the first one for them. Monitor to have an idea about the areas of difficulty in order to provide explanation. Ask the students to check their answers with their parents. Play the recording (R3.13), ans ask the students to listen and check their answers. Explain penny and cent in relation pound, euro and dollar. Play the recording again, and ask the students to repeat.
Ask the students to work in pairs and say the prices in exercise 2 . Play the recording (R3.11), and ask the students to check their answers. Play the recording again, and ask the students to repeat. Introduce exercise 3 and tell the students they are going to listen to 5 conversations. Play the recording (R3.12) and ask the students to write the prices. The students work in pairs to compare their answers. Elicit and correct.
Ask the students to do exercise 4. Ask them to compare their answers. The teachers checks the answers. Play recording ( R3.13) and ask the students to repeat.
Ask the students to look at the photos (1-10) and try to match them with the price list. They compare their answers with partners. Play recording ( R3.14) and ask the students to repeat. Ask the students to work in pairs asking each other about the food and drinks. (If time) The students use card with something on one side and its price on the other. They ask questions and answer.
