T asks students to join the Pair Deck platform. T invites Ss to talk about what they did in the last lessons and share their opinions about the picture.
T plays an excerpt of the video and asks Ss to rephrase the statements accurately. Then, T asks ss to brainstorm several phrases about family and what they might mean. Following that, Ss watch the full video for the main idea and details respectively. The PearDeck platform will be available this whole time to receive and reflect on Ss responses. As the responses appear on the board, T invited Ss to reflect on their responses.
T asks Ss to brainstorm the term proverb. Ss will give examples from their L1 and how and when they use those proverbs. Ss watch the final excerpt from the video and match the proverbs with the country/ region it is from. In pairs, Ss discuss what those proverbs might mean. T asks them to use those proverbs in context.
T starts the jeopardy game. Ss form groups of 4. Each group will choose 1 title and a point set from the jeopardy platform. T will reveal the proverb and Ss will have 60 seconds to discuss its meaning. In each round, another student from each group will announce their responses. T reveals the answer and the groups earn a point for every right answer.
T asks Ss to share some of the proverbs that they can recall from the lesson. Ss share their answers and use those proverbs in a context as to when they might use those proverbs.
